I alternate 2 pieces every week, the reason being that I have never had 2 pieces exactly identical, so by changing every week, I don't think it is noticeable.

Most systems, unless you wanted human hair, use synthetic, so the grey hair won't take any product, so you can use it. I just ordered a bottle, and I have brown and grey as well.
