Pretty nice looking I think, and a big part of why no one makes fun of his hair anymore. There's nothing to make fun of. (The other reason probably being he's not really working much these days.)

If I didn't already know already I doubt I would think anything unusual about it. If anything, I'd probably be jealous.

Here's an older one from 2007. It also looks nice, but I definitely think his newest pieces as above are improved. The weight loss helps too.

It's particularly impressive to me because he's using such a short style. Even a half inch longer would make it so much easier to pull off on the sides, but the new ones in particular work well anyway.

Also, here's a super hi res pic of his good early Star Trek days. I wasn't honestly sure people were right he was even wearing a topper back then it looked so good. But now maybe I can see a hint of shine/lace.

It really makes you wonder why he started wearing those awful chia pet rugs for all those years between.

Those are great pics. His hair systems have gotten better. It's the same with Elton John. If you look at some of his older photos his hair systems were really bad--he's gotten a lot better.

The worst celeb. hair pieces are what Burt Reynolds wears. I actually went to the same salon as him in Chicago over 25 years ago. It was a place for just the average guy, he always looked like he had a rug.

I am always amazed when I watch STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME. I had read that it was in Shatner's contract that Paramount Pictures paid for a new hair piece for each new Trek movie they did. In THE VOYAGE HOME towards the end there is a scene where William is swimming underwater and you get some real good close ups of him and his hair underwater. If you were to tell me he wore a piece after watching that movie I would say you are nuts. Impossible! That movie came out in 1986 and damn, those underwater scenes really did show how good of a piece he had. The best money could buy!

There is a brilliant blog which is dedicated solely to Shatner's toupee. It's writer has spent an unimaginable number of hours analyzing his entire career and the different toupee's he's worn. interesting (and funny) reading.

His wigs really chronicle the advancement in hair wearing through the decades.
His latest one is so convincing people believe its his own hair and that he's had a transplant.
He's turned toupees into an art form!

Poor Spock, no-one mentions his hair!
But then again, he won't care.... he has no emotions!

John Wayne was another movie star that had a bad hair piece. There are some old movie stars that had some great hair pieces. These go back to the 30's and 40's. These stars included Humphrey Bogart and Bing Crosby. Their hair pieces were made by Max Factor who became a big name in the cosmetics industry.

whats with all the anti shatner behovior anyway....this guy hates baldness like all we do yet he seems to be ridiculed by a lot of people on this site ....i think he looks pretty good with is hairpiece in a lot of those pics even the ones were it is a bit too thick.....also what should he have done just be bald and be unhappy

I wouldn't say people are "Anti-Shatner" - but he (like Elton John), is a 'go to' example of bad hairpieces of the past.
Shatner's hair these days looks fantastic, but go back and look at what he was wearing in the 70's and 80's
