i also did this mistake at the beginning. Use Lacerealease and squeeze it slowly out, make it slowly to prevent shading. Thats a normal rookie mistake, after some practising it will never happen :) ...

i for example wear three weeks in generally, but i dont use tapes, i just use glue. The longest time was 6 -7 weeks but that was a mess. Ever never used tapes, so i dont know how long those work.
