you can add some petrolium jelly or something like that to the underside of your base.. this will help it from soaking up color. But i mean your basically putting the color on a comb and going through the hair. Just make sure you don't go all the way down and be careful. and when you wash the color out.. wash it from the lace side.. meaning run the water through the lace and have the hair system pointed down so the color doesn't run into the lace and knots. Get a gel or an easy to use coloring so you can control where the color goes more.
