Bleaching Help Needed

RE: Bleaching Help Needed
Have you looked at this video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD_LKdPLf...re=related

Compared to videos that Paul posted, this one talks about using steamer or microwave for "bleach bubble". Could this be the difference?

I don't have my piece yet and I have no experience with bleaching but thought this may help.

Cheers.

Why does this forum software show 'go-getter' posted something to my thread and when I view my thread it doesn't show any post by him? It shows my post as the last one.

What is going on?? Arggggrrr
Thanks Gogetter, I saw this video yesterda before I went about bleaching mine. However, the stuff I bought said "do not heat" repeatedly so I didn't. I'm thinking about doing it again and trying it this way. What do I have to lose? I can't wear this thing anyway.

Yeah .. I saw a clip where that process was used some time back....what have you got to lose by trying it at this stage ? Must be very annoying though.... would drive me mad if it happened to me...let us know how it goes.... cheers, Paul.

I`ve noticed that too on a few threads.. I go to read the last post by someone and it`s not there...when I return later I can see/read it. Must be a tecchie issue. I was thinking there too...if that bleaching kit tells you not to heat it....you might be better off to get one that you DO have to heat....might be safer than risking some kind of disaster ? Just a thought....

Some more interesting info I found for knot bleaching. I am not sure if you have already read this but here is the link.

http://www.toplace.com/hairloss-info-tips.html#versus

Important info I found is that if the piece uses Indian Ramy hair then just bleach won't work. You have to use the fabric dye remover (apparently, this can be found at any grocery store) before you use bleach. Some more tricks also listed there. Let us know if it works for you!

Cheers!

RE: Bleaching Help Needed
Ok guys.. I contacted Debbie and asked for her input ..she mailed me back and gave me permission to post her reply here so I hope it`s of interest and help to anyone having problems with knots.... I`ve rarely seen a person complaining regarding Toplace systems not being properly bleached and just to point out that the problem-system which expriest is showing us, is NOT a Toplace one. Here`s Debbie`s reply:

I've had this happen before also and it's very frustrating. all pieces are bleached at the factory if the company you ordered from offers this service (most do), but sometimes the knots do not look as good as other times....so we bleach them again...and I've had a few pieces where the knots would simply JUST NOT LIGHTEN....very frustrating, on one piece, all the hair fell out from bleaching yet the knots never did lighten. it does happen occassionlly and I have no idea why, all I can think of is that perhaps some synthetic hair gets mixed in with the human hair???? that's just a guess. sorry I cannot be of much help on this, I know its frustrating as all get-out when it happens!!! I've been there and even ruined pieces because of it!! Sad

RE: Bleaching Help Needed
My solution:

Order all your future pieces with the front inch or so done in colour 22R and never worry about knots again in your life. When you attach it and cut it in, choose a colour from the Wella Kolesten range that is close to your own, colour all the hair including your own. Et viola, no knots, no hassle with trying to bleach the unbleachable. If you get really close to the base without colouring it you can get the best looking hairline you've ever seen.

Extra bonus of colouring is if anyone ever thinks your hair doesn't quite look right (if you're having a bad day) you can say you colour it and sometimes it comes out a bit strong.

RE: Bleaching Help Needed
I have so much grey hair now I ordered a stock piece all grey. I've thought about dyeing a little bit, I use such a tiny bit cut out of the stock that I could dye individual strands.....the best part no need to worry about bleached knots lol.
