I just made the thing myself and it seems huge. I don't think I need quite as much as I gave myself, that's why I am saying it will probably need trimmed.

Won't be answering your question here, but I am in a similar situation as you as far as length goes. Why don't you want to do a vacuum cutter any longer? I was thinking of buying one in the next week...
