Looks like the crown is thinning as well, so I would stick with the topper,Venkman. My second suggestion may come as a shock... I would recreate the hairline to match more of what you have right now...

I believe that OP should avoid temple flaps for now. I say this becauae i think that triangular flaps will contrast in hait quality and scap visibility when seen next to his natural sides further back...
