I did it with the unit off my head with a pair of eyebrow type tweezers (I'm guessing thats what they were....the kind with the flat ends).

I didn't thin the entire piece, only staggered the new hairline I created.

how did you do the recession. did you use a mold,template.

Cutting the base seems to be the the thing that freaks people out the most about hairwearing.

There's really nothing to trimming the base. I didn't use any kind of a template or anything to add the recession, I simply started at the front with a lipliner pencil and made the mark wider as i went back toward the recession area. When I got to the back of the hairline/top of the temples I made a conservative size triangular shape marks to create recession. I started trimming and actually nailed it on the first cut.

The key is to trim a little ad try it out. It's a lot harder to add than it is to subtract.....
