Using subtle highlights to get that textured look (photos)
I've added some subtle highlights to my piece to give it the textured look. This was mentioned a few weeks back after the Elton John discussion. I used my old leftover bottles of Jerome Russel peroxide and bleach (I was surprised they still worked ok!).

This can really bring the "life" back into an old piece. And if your hair is thinning a little at the front, using highlights will actually help to make it look better somehow - possibly because the thinning hair doesn't contrast too much with your scalp colour.
