I've added some subtle highlights to my piece to give it the textured look. This was mentioned a few weeks back after the Elton John discussion. I used my old leftover bottles of Jerome Russel peroxide and bleach (I was surprised they still worked ok!).
This can really bring the "life" back into an old piece. And if your hair is thinning a little at the front, using highlights will actually help to make it look better somehow - possibly because the thinning hair doesn't contrast too much with your scalp colour.

I so agree with you! In the past, I always ordered a piece as just one color. This past time however, I decided to order hightlights evenly distributed throughout the piece, and I am so happy with the outcome! It looks so much more natural to have a little bit of variety of color in your hair, then just one solid color. I am ordering this way from now on.

Your hp looks really really great!
Are your side hairs still thick by nature or do you cover the sides with the hair of the hp? If so, do you just let the hairs of the hp hang down or do you attach it to the sides with hair products?

In the hairsystem I'm wearing, the hair is just cut in a very specific shape (to look like natural temple points), and brushed forward a little. I've been doing this for years and I'm happy with this solution, but in my latest template I'm trying to incorporate small "wings". If they don't work out I'll trim them off
