different kinds of lace
I thought there was another kind of swiss lace that was also honeycomb shaped and a bit more durable than the SFS and French lace was a square shaped lace that was the most durable of the laces. TopLace had a picture of the French that still looked honeycomb shaped to me.

Then there was a mono type that was way to small to even tell what shape the stuff was in.

Are the names French and Normal Swiss interchangeable?

RE: different kinds of lace
As a standard within the industry in general, the names mean nothing.
One seller's Fine Swiss Lace can be thicker than another seller's French lace.
Some seller's abandon these names altogether and make up their own.

You need to contact a seller and discuss it on an individual basis.

RE: different kinds of lace
got it, thanks Hersute

I would say topLace only deals in the higher quality laces/bases. That's fine by me, I'm just trying to figure everything out.
