Yeah, guys, you can use perming solution to "straighten" a piece with too much curl. But be careful about applying the solution too close to the base, because that will change the direction of the hair across the board. For example, if you have a free style piece and decided to saturate the piece and then comb it out evenly all the way around while attached to a styrofoam head, I think you'll wind up pretty much matting the piece all the way around -- it will lay very flat. All body (or at least a lot) will be lost. I speak from experience on that, because I did it. Not good. As such, unless you're wishing to change the actual direction of the shaft (such as wanting to turn a "forward" ventilated piece into a brush back piece), don't apply all the way (or even very close) to the base. Just apply it where the "bend" is that you want to eliminate or on the ends if you're trying to get straighter hair at the "blending" point.
