price of full cap + shipping
Can I ask how much people are paying for full cap on this site.

when I go to order it says its $250 for a custom hair system, but it doesn't mention if a full cap costs more, most sites charge more for a full cap so I would like to know that information.

also for UK shipping sometimes I get the quote $50, other times $20 when I go to the next page, for wearers in the UK how much has shipping been for you, and have you had to pay any extra tax charges when it comes to the UK?

also how long has the wait time been in total from order to it arriving to your door in the UK.

Here is what I received from John when I wrote him about a full cap.

The full cap is $449 (includes up to 6" of real human hair) plus $20 S & H.

The $20 shipping was for in the US. I don't know what the shipping to UK would be.

wow, really $200 more for a full cap SFS?

can you double check this as this seems like a large mark up for full cap compared to other sites, are you sure you were not getting a special system like NG Base or something.

The right--a full cap is $449 for either SFS or French lace plus $20 S & H. This includes up to 6" of real human Remi hair. This is a complete full cap with sideburns and all the way to the nape of the neck. We can do highlights at no extra charge. The factory prefers that you send in a template for the best fit although they can work from dimensions. But it's best to send in a template.

John

RE: price of full cap + shipping
ok lets say I wanted the New generation base in full cap, on the order form it says $249 + $80 which makes $329, but for a full cap edition of NG would it be $529?

so a full cap version of anything I see on the custom system page is that price + $200.

so re-'cap':

TL 100 SFS full cap: $449
TL 400 PSB Full cap: $495
TL 700 NG Full Cap: $529? - can you check this.

also for the shipping i am from the UK, so is it $50 or $20, and has anyone from the UK got extra tax for when it arrives.

I think generally, fullcap -wearers tend to use lace for their bases... I`m not aware of any [on here anyway] who wear systems made of other materials.... I imagine types of Poly, would be ` clammy` on the head ... I`m open to correction of course !
I know a wearer who recently had to pay import duty in UK on a topper delivery..it was delivered by DHL. He paid approx. 15£. Anything coming into E.U. from non-E.U. countries, is liable to importation tax. Any deliveries I received from Toplace [using U.S. postal service] were never slapped with an import-charge..... I have gotten items delivered by DHL and UPS and these were charged at 20€ VAT [per parcel/package--not per item within]. ..... it has been discussed on radio here, by people who are increasingly using on-line shopping to order items from abroad, and who are having to pay taxes on delivery---it seems to me that the courier companies seem to be acting on the instructions of the tax-people, yet the normal postal service just delivers your item as normal without levying taxes....maybe if you ask John to ship your item by normal U.S. mail, you may ` get away` with it.
I suppose in these recession-hit days, the revenue people are ` watching` anything and everything ..if it moves-tax it ! I think the general shipping charge to UK is 50$ using U.S. postal service. Sorry I can`t answer your questions re the prices of a fullcap using the base materials you referred-to......... just drop John an e-mail and he can clarify things for you.....regards.

Re UK import charges, it depends upon how the item is described by the sender.

Firstly, no documentation should be included with the package, such as invoices etc, because they show its a purchase.
Secondly, if anywhere on the description the words 'human hair' is used, then the package has to be held & investigated as a potential bio-hazard.

Thirdly, there can be an issue over 'value'.
If you have the item sent with insurance for loss or damage, the sender has to confirm its value on the package.
Customs may then use that value to assess its worth and charge you VAT (@ 20%) on top.
This can apply to items even sent as 'gifts'.

The best description for import duty avoidance is:
Repaired Synthetic Head Wear or Head Gear.

Sometimes you can get called by DHL (or other couriers) asking you to confirm what it actually is. You can say its just a specialist thing you need to wear on your head for..sport..drama..medical reasons..whatever and it will be ok.
I've even said its a special type of head phone!
Its important to stress its something thats been sent back to you having been repaired as this is not considered a purchase.

I believe I'm right in saying couriers levy their own handling charges to clear something through customs that is liable for import tax, so if you don't say the right things, you get stung for extra charges twice.
This means the couriers have an interest in trying to get you to pay import tax too as their handling charges can be up to £20.

I have disputed charges in the past and received a refund, but it takes ages.
