Need Help Before My First Order
Hey Everyone,

I really appreciate all the info on the forum. I'm looking for some help before my first order. I've been lurking for months but I have finally decided that I need to just jump in with both feet and do it! I do have a couple of questions though that I would really like to get some input on. I'm most interested in a full cap.

Did you order 2 pieces right away so that you have a spare? I want 2 before I start wearing but I don't want to purchase 2 and not be happy with either one (big expense).

French Lace, Swiss Lace, or Skin?

I would be ordering light/medium brown hair, will the knots be visible when the hair is dry or wet?

Is it possible to have the back and sides cut to about ¾? And the top about a 1 ½?

How long did it take for you to receive your first full cap?

Last question Smile

Are these styles possible with a full cap? Would a 60-65% density be good for these styles?

RE: Need Help Before My First Order
Hi Sprinter,
It's true that it's a good idea to have an extra piece as a backup unit. But you don't need 2 pieces right away. I suggest just getting one unit at first and see how you like it. You can then order the second unit and you may want to 'tweak' the specs on the second unit. French lace, Swiss lace or skin? For a full cap I recommend a lace unit as it's more comfortable. Your could go with either Swiss or French lace. The French lace is a little more sturdier and that comes in handy when you're a 'newbie.' It's less likely to tear as you're getting the hang of attaching and removing. Both are made of the same translucent material. I suggest going with the French lace base with poly on the back and sides. The poly will give you a smooth surface to attach the tapes and glue so that you get a strong bond. As the back of your head/neck move you need a strong attachment on a full cap so that the attachment remains in place. All knots are bleached and with light to medium brown hair you won't see them when they're dry or wet. You can certainly have the units styled with the sides being 3/4" and the top being 1 1/2"---no problem. Being a full cap it takes longer to make than a normal topper---expect about 6-8 weeks. The photos of the styles that you like are certainly doable. I'd go with a slightly higher density, 70-75%, as the styles are fairly short and you'll need the extra density. On the first 2 photos the hair has 2 colors in it--and we can do that no problem. We look forward to helping you.
Regards,
John
