New forum
Hi Everyone,
As you can see we've got a new forum up and running along with the old. Please register with the new forum. We'll run both forums for a time till everyone gets signed on to the new one and this allows users to research topics. The new one will provide for easier searches and is more up-to-date.
Regards,
John

Re: New forum
Kinda figured you guys would do this sooner or later.

The improved search function will prove to be invaluable to pros and newbies alike.

This is actually one of the BB applications I was thinking about adding to my site, since GoDaddy has specific installation instructions for phpBB. Now I get to test it beforehand. Yippee!

Re: New forum
Looks great! Much better message board with obvious improvements.

But, having two is still a bad idea. Just like with the previous "new" board (for members), this probably isn't going to do very well as long as the ancient "*****" board remains functional. I think Xeon suggested locking the other forum and listing it here under an "archives" link so it could still be accessed. I think that's a good idea. I'd have this new forum appear at the network54 url too if possible (if B.A. agrees). It's like the U.S. government trying to make people embrace dollar coins without retiring the paper ones ... didn't work at all.

Just my opinion, not telling anyone what to do. Smile

Re: New forum
I just wish we had the photo icons viewable
of the users on this forum .....

Makes it easy to skip over those writers
whose posts .... seemingly exist here for no
other purpose then to continually put
others down

But ... it also gave me motivation
to utilizing the one-click install of the php
open source bulletin boards ... which I have
already free on all my websites

How do you customize the top header though ??
hmmmm ... need a coder. Smile

Re: New forum
Neptune,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll talk to BA and the webmaster about that. I've also instructed the webmaster to allow avatars (user icons) on the new forum--I'll check on that too.
Regards,
John
