question about hair clipper guards
This may seem like a dumb question, but I'm serious...does anyone know if hair clipper guards are meant to actually cut the hair to the length specified by the clipper guard? I have an inexpensive set of Remington clippers with 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 1 inch guards. When I use the 1 inch guard, the hair seems to end up more like an inch and three quarters. When I use the half inch guard, the hair ends up about an inch and a quarter. The length that the hair ends up seems to correspond to the distance from the trimming blade to the end of the guard (which makes perfect sense to me). Again, on the half inch guard, that distance measures an inch and a quarter. I just don't understand how they come up with the lengths specified on the guards. Maybe the more expensive clipper guards avoid this problem???
