Remy hair and V-knotting?
just curious:

With my current Toplace unit I have hardly any shedding issues (and I am glad with the piece), but when, of course, from time to time some hairs happen to fall out, I notice that they have one knot in the middle, i.e. wearing 10 inch hair, actually 20 inch hairs are used, knotted in the middle and have two 10 inch ends. Let's call this "V knotted"...

So far, so good.

Recently, however, some hair expert on a forum said that remy hair cannot be "V knotted" because the cuticle structure of the hair would run in different directions then. One half would run up, the other half down. That would lead to massive problems of felting and so on.

So I'm just wondering how the factory can "V knot" the remy hair Toplace uses? (Or is my piece not remy hair at all, as it is V knotted?)

The type of knot will depend on the type of vent you order.

Freestyle is not v knot.
Search the old forum for v knot.
There's a good pic of Elton John.
His latest piece has v knot at front.
