Satin and silk are two different things.

Satin is polyester. Silk is a natural fiber.

Don't know about silk, but a pair of satin pillowcases is the best $10 you will ever spend on your hair.

I've been having some problems with matting when I wake up in the morning. Will satin pillowcases help that?

Yup, that coupled with a hair net works wonders Wink

Yes, I use a hair net at night and satin pillow cases.
As I've mentioned many times, I easily get 9 months ~ 1 year out of a unit (SFS or french) with no shedding and very little hair color fade.

Maybe a little, but matting is caused by the cuticles getting caught on each other. A pillowcase that reduces friction will help but probably won't completely solve the problem.

The only real way to solve this is to seal the hair shaft. If you don't yet have a bottle email me your name and address and I will send you a sample of the BlueMax serum which will seal the cuticles and eliminate tangles and matting. I am temporarily out of the full size bottles, but I found a few sample containers laying around. Let me know ASAP.

I actually wear a $1 red bandana at the suggestion of my stylist ...
I'm all over the place in my sleep ... probably would rip the piece
off if I didn't ....

Fred,

Do you seal your knots? If so do you do it yourself?
