Longer hairstyles
Hi all,

I'm a complete newbie to all this so apologies in advance for any stupid questions I may ask.

My story; am 25, been losing for around 3/4 years and am currently NW2ish but diffuse in an NW5 pattern. I used to have long hair before all this hairloss palava and I definitely look best with longer hair so I would like to go back to that if possible. After wasting a ridiculous amount of time researching hair transplants, I've come to the conlcusion that they will never restore me to my former glory. I'm moving country in October so this would be the perfect time for me to make the transition from a balding bozo to a sporter of a lushious, silky mop ala Fabio.

So my first question is; do any of you guys have longer hairstyles? If so, do you find it more difficult to maintain? And it what sense? Blending, attachments, washing...

The kind of style I'm thinking of is like in this pic. (I know this probably isn't everyone's cup of tea so feel free to have a laugh and think why on earth would this guy want to look like that.)

Secondly, should I go for a full cap or a topper? I've searched the board and seen a few discussions on this topic, but none specifically for longer hairstyles. My back and sides are ok, but my temples are going, going, gone... There is obviously a trade off between full caps and toppers but since I would like to go for a longer style (a bit like a women's) would that put the evidence in favor of a full cap for me? Also, I like to run so would this be possible in a full cap? Because of the style I'd like to go for (where I won't be exposing any hairline), would it be right to think that I could go for the strongest tapes/glue and not have to worry so much about the things guys with shorter styles worry about.

Finally, is there anyone in London who can talk me through all this? This forum is fantastic, but sometimes it's easier speaking to someone in person. I'd need a template made as well as a walk through of the other important stuff. If you guys have any salon's/specialists in mind who often deal with toplace pieces then please let me know.

Thanks for reading,

balding bozo (hopefully soon to be 'Chewbacca, formally known as the balding bozo')

That would be amazing! Thanks Jake! Is it possible to send PM's on this forum so I could send you my contact details? Also, do you know if he wears a full cap or just a topper?

Thanks again mate.

Re: Longer hairstyles
With that style you probably want to go full cap, I do have some stock full cap with long hair or you could send in a template
or these dimensions :

Thanks BA! Great forum by the way.

Do you think it would be a lot of hard work to maintain that a full cap like that? Should I not be so ambitious? Sorry for the stupid questions - if I ever make it to one of your conventions, I'll be sure to reimburse you with beer!

Regarding measurements, I'd prefer to get a template made and getting fitted by a pro the first couple of times. I've read on here that Joanna(?) is very good so I'll try to pay her a visit as soon as possible to get a template made.

No mate that style is really forgiving as it will hide any imperfections in the attachment, But you will need a good cut in as it will need to be feathered and layered.

Go see Joanna she will get you sorted.

I've sent you a mail Jake. Thanks again mate, I really appreciate this.

Another question if I may; is it any more difficult to work out in a full cap that a topper? It's just that I like to run and wouldn't want to give this up.
