RE: Stylist in San Antonio, Texas
I highly recommend Debbie from Hair Studio Sonterra - http://www.hairstudiosonterra.com/
She's super flexible, does a fantastic job, and, as my posts here on the forum have proven, she's an all around great stylist. I'm 28, nobody has ever detected me. She even helped me make my very first template when I was a clueless wearer.
Average price is about $45, but I usually tip her a $20. Located on the North Side, in Stone Oak.

I'm not sure what the full cost is for attachment and such. You should probably call the salon and ask, they're very friendly. You can even text them, if you're more comfortable with that.
I usually do all the prep work myself (since you should probably get used to doing it anyway). I usually buy stock systems and do all the templates/lace cutting myself, then attach, then go get a cut from Debbie.
I know her systems go for about $1k, so I figured my (our) way is the best way to go.

Hey Trav
I'm about to move back to Austin and get fitted for my first system. Thanks for tip on Debbie's salon, I'll be calling her. Mind me asking what type of base/style you use especially for the hot humid summers? That is my biggest concern with living there and wearing. How often do you swap for a new unit? Are you active? Ever swim in itv
