Did My first Mirror slide today
Ok so I attached the base with Got2B but I decided to do the frontline with ORWG, this is because Got2B only gives a 24 hour hold in the frontline.
anyway I got a full 3 days with ORWG, which is all I need, so I decided to do a cleanup for the first time via mirror slide only.
I tried autoglym which never worked, and solvent, which didnt really work well.
so without knowing what a mirror slide was, I guessed by the name to slide it on a mirror.
and WOW it came off really easily, I got a good 95% of it off just by sliding the unit on a mirror, took 20 seconds!
It felt great, there is virtually no clean-up this way, and no smell from the autoglym.
so that is it, a perfect attachment and perfect cleanup (virtually none!).
for reference Got2B doesn't really have a cleanup, it just comes off naturally.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this and try the mirror slide out first before trying official solvent removers.
and I remember the days I used to do full bond with ultra hold, it took half the bottle and took forever to clean up from the base!
Got2B + ORWG w/ mirror slides rocks!
my life is 50x easier now!

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
The same thing can be achieved using packaging bubble wrap or pages of a glossy magazine.
The only problem I found was that unless the glue was already very soft, you could slide the glue off but take some of the hairs with it, which caused shedding.
And also of course, you're left with a filthy mirror that then needs cleaning, so you're back to using the solvents.
You're the only person so far who couldn't get autoglym to work for you.
I'm surprised and wondering why?
In the end we all find the method that works best for us.

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
well I put autoglym in a basin with warm water, and soaked the lace in it, but it hardly did anything, I was trying to brush it out but it never worked.
Im happy with mirror slide, no smelly clean-up anyway.
really happy it worked out Got2B just doesn't cut it for frontline.

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
that might be an idea, maybe use an old toothbrush with it.
but the instructions were to soak it in a small bole of water.

Southernguy is right.
You just soak the lace in pure autoglym, no water.
You don't need a brush, as after 15-20 minutes, the glue turns to jelly and can then be washed off.
NOW I understand why it didn't work for you.

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
oh ok so I put the lace in a bowl/sink.
then put autoglym in it, let it soak in for 10 minutes?
and then just wash off!
see I never thought to wait that long as well.

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
You have to wait until the glue turns to a jelly.
This can take up to 20 mins.
It just depends upon the amount and age of the glue.

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
hmm, I will give that a go, the mirror slide however takes seconds and its 95% gone.
if it takes a so long I might just do the mirror slide.
but next time I will give it a go, and post back results.

RE: Did My first Mirror slide today
The mirror slide is a tried & trusted method of glue removal.
The problem can be when glue seeps through the lace and can get in to the hair.
Also, for every 1% glue residue left behind, your next attachment is weakened by 10%.
Thats why some of us have resorted to the Autoglym, to remove all possible traces of old glue from the hair & lace.
