RE: Question on exercise base.
I had one of those types of bases once in the past (albeit from a different supplier), and it worked out fine from an aesthetic standpoint. But I was more aware that I was wearing a piece because of the extra poly and weight (you'll notice even a slight difference, in that regard, when something's sitting on your head). So I didn't repeat the process. I just bond all-lace pieces with blue lace support tape, and the thing isn't going anywhere. Ever. Under any circumstances.
The foregoing said, there is something to be said for a poly perimeter. Makes cleanup a breeze. That and a little more durability are the advantages. The disadvantages are as stated above.
