Swimming and wearing hair
The time of season is here to get wet. Pools, lakes, and water parks. Remember that chlorinated water in pools is hard on hair---both your own hair and your hair system. If do you go into a pool or water park and get your hair wet you should shampoo as soon as you get out to get the chlorine out. Natural water lakes are fine--they will have virtually no affect on your unit. Going to the ocean the salt water will also be tough on your hair. Shampoo after a dip in the salt water.

Can you shampoo the unit while it is on your head or do you have to take it off?

You can leave in on your head. Shampoo has only a minimal effect on the bond.

Are units made from color-matched European hair (i.e., no added color/dye) also vulnerable to the effects of chlorine, etc.?

Yes, any type of hair is affected. Chlorine is a strong chemical that kills germs. It's tough on all hair.

My advise is to have a battered old piece lying around specially for these occasions! Then you can go in as much as you like, cos it's not your super-cool new piece.
