I am considering cutting a similar edge on the sides of my mohawk unit. With tape the french lace gives a detectable edge even if you overlap the tape a tiny bit. I'm thinking that if I can just break up the "hard" edge by cutting tiny triangles it will help break it up enough that it won't be so detectable to touch.
