Depending on which glue you're talking about, I've often found it more difficult to remove the 3mil "tape" residue from skin than a thin layer of regular glue. Of course, if your hairline matches the 3mil contour, application and getting a sharp adhesive line at the front is more simple with the 3mil (or any tape, for that matter).
