Has 3 mil tape changed?

I rec'd this from HD : "the packaging for the CC 3 mil tapes have changed, they now have a plain backing and no longer have wording. The A,B, and D’s will also be changing over but at the moment each of these contours still have the wording. "

I rec'd the 3-MIL CC contour two months ago and the tape backing was different as was the tape. What they sent me was the correct CC countour but the tape was not flimsy little fall apart delicarte 3-MIL - it was much more durable ie thicker. Anyone know anything about the 3-MIL tape going through a change?
