March 12, 2009, Melbourne, Australia - Researchers from Melbourne's Royal Women's hospital have uncovered a remarkable fact - that bald men are 60% more resistant to cancer than their non-bald counterparts. Professor Michael Quinn reports in the March 2009 Journal of Cancer Nursing his finding which includes data over two decades. "It's an amazing statistic", said Quinn, "we've known for some time the data pointed in this direction, but the conclusion suprised even us". Quinn speculated that since bald men have greater exposure to sunlight, this increases their serum vitamin D-3 levels, which in recent years has been known to decrease cancer susceptability.
