Hairagain... Your problem and mine...I just don't understand if the unit was the right color to begin with for your natural hair...why would they darken your hair????? My only suggestion would be to highlight the unit and not let them darken your natural hair...I have sen many guys with darker hair on the sides and back....but the top unit had highlights of all the colors....lights and dark...to me that would be the only way to pull off the color changes.
