Hi Joe, thanks for clarifying......you have to be careful when de-bonding flaps, because repeatedly exposing them to ` pressure` could lead to the lace tearing...just use plenty of lace-release and be patient / allow it time to work before lifting the flaps....some wearers of Swiss lace who require flaps, will often specify the flaps be made of the slightly more robust French lace...just be careful /gentle when de-bonding and you should be fine....... I think glue would be best to use on that area rather than tape for the reason you`ve stated -- visibility. It can be tricky to get tape to ` sit` right at the very edge of the lace, and on such a very visible part of the system, yes, it would be likely you`d have a ` visibility` issue.... with glue, you`re far less likely to have that worry.... many wearers of lace, particularly at the front hairline, may use tape for the majority of the bond, but on that very front edge, they`ll use glue, because it will hold the very edge of the lace down invisibly, and is easier to paint-on for the curve, rather than using bits of straight-edged tapes [even contour shapes don`t always fit right to the very edge snugly]..... if you apply your glue to the skin so that it goes ` beyond` the edge of your lace by maybe 2 millimetres, you can carefully go around, once your system is bonded on, with a cotton pad moistened with alcohol, and carefully wipe any excess from your skin, taking care not to squeeze the pad so that alcohol gets onto the edge of the lace, or it will loosen your new bond...even a cotton-bud [ Q-tip] used for cleaning the ears can be useful for this.....the edge of the lace will disappear into the glue... I use a glass dropper to apply my lace-release ..you can get them in any pharmacy-- the things used to place drops into the eye or ear....glass tube with a rubber bulb on one end..simply suction up some liquid and then gently squeeze a little onto the lace where it`s held by tape/glue..this is more accurate and less wasteful than the ` scatter-gun` approach of spraying it on from the atomiser nozzle that the bottle come fitted -with...also helps keep the [drying] alcohol off most of the hair...kind regards.
