Unless you flatten your head you really can never get rid of the folds (a fold being a single large ripple).

Don't know why so many of you here struggle with the concept of flat versus curved, thought Colombus had a breakthrough in 1492 but he had to go to leave Italy and make his case in Spain.

Just imagine if the folds were cut out, making the base curved - just like the template you sent in.

However the factory can only make them slightly curved (let's face it the base is 99% flat, no?) and letting the piece dry on a curved styrofoam only really helps a little. Cutting the darts yourself is the key to a perfect fit.

The factory never makes a piece that curves like your template. No one here has ever noticed that?

Many don't notice the folds/ripples and style their hair where it is just not noticeable.

All in all if you are able to make it work and you look good that's all that matters, regardless of the technique. GLTA
