Taping front hairline and preventing wrinkles

RE: Taping front hairline and preventing wrinkles
Having tried gluing the piece to my scalp for a year, I found my
pieces wear out faster when they're restyled. I feel much more
secure with tape. I get the SuperTape from Debbie (that Walker
stuff - No Shine - is too gooey for me and wrinkles badly) but at
the hairline in front (which is exposed in my case) we leave a half
an inch for glue ... so I can easily fix it in the morning if it comes
up.

With tape, I found some of these tapes rise over time in the
heat, etc, and it looks like the front base is elevated on a gelatin
layer off your scalp. You can imagine the horror waking up in the
morning and seeing this. There was a tape a year ago called ST-30
that was the ultimate for me .. but alas, it disappeared off the
market. You just have to experiment ... even with pieces. They're
all hand made. A good stylish can fix any inconsistancies.

BTW: When My stylist tapes my piece, she cuts the tape into
about 2" sections as she applies it to the piece directly, and
we cover the whole piece, unless you have more frequent removals.
I typically wear a piece about 3 weeks before servicing. IF
you go to the gym every day, sweat a lot, you may find your
results vary.
