Hi,
I tape my pieces all around the perimetre,but was getting ripples at the hairline.I know this can be the result of not enough pleats so the lace doesnt match the curviture of your scalp,but i have another solution thats helps this problem if you only use tape.
I split the tape i use down the middle for the front hairline,i place the first piece of tape near the edge of the piece,then the second piece i place behind it after leaving a small gap say 3mm(the two pieces are running parallel),i find the tape seems to match the curviture of your scalp better,and doesnt cause major ripples,on the lace at the front as it did when i used just one piece.
Bearing in mind i do apply my tape to the lace,and not my scalp first.
