Hey Paul,

You can certainly get away with poly if the unit has the right specs and you don't mind it being detectable to touch.

What makes it detectable to touch is the fact that there is no "transition" at the edge of the unit like you would have if you were integrating a partial unit. The poly is less of an issue if it is surrounded by growing hair because when fingers run through it the abrupt edge is softened with your own hair.

In your situation you might want to order one unit with a poly perimeter (make sure you specify a thinner skin material) and one all lace.

Also keep in mind that you can also use tape a sort of a temporary skin perimeter, peeling the unit off at night and reactivating the tape with a little glue in the morning.
