yes, and I should also mention that you will not get the best possible look with clips and hair under the piece. for a nice, flawless look, the head should be shaved and the piece glued or taped into place. I'm not saying some don't achieve a good look with clips....but it is definitely harder to achieve a good look using clips and having hair showing through under the lace. remember that pink scalp showing through the lace is what makes it look as though hair is growing from the scalp, if you slick your hair down and put a lace piece over it, that eliminates that realistic scalp look.
It is a personal decision you will have to weigh, that's all. almost everyone on this board has been there at one point.
