What are everyone's techniques against fading and maintaining softness.

I hate fading, MeanDean your hair polisher keeps the system feeling great but doesn't protect completely against the sun when out in it all day.

Ok,heres a very nice fix for this problem.You add some Coppertone Sport sunscreen to your hair polisher
and you are all set.I used 20% Coppertone to hair polisher.I also used a old piece as a test dummy.I cut it in 3
pieces and one was left stock,one had only IC polisher and one has the new mix.All 3 units left outside for 3 days
in the sun.The stock unit got lighter big time and golden brassy.The second unit with IC polisher looked a
little lighter in color but not brassy,but not bad.The third unit looked perfect,no fade,no nothing.
Some testing notes.Each unit was sprayed one time per day.I also kept a small sample piece from the unit
to judge the units left in the sun.The thrid unit is the hands down winner.

Sorry for being so dumb but what do you mean by a hair polisher?

he's refering to IC Hair Polisher Mist by Fantasia. I know walgreens sells it for 3 or 4 bucks. it does not contain alochol. It also claims to be a sunscreen.

Damn nice post, wish i read this sooner, i was around walgreens looking for something with sunscreen in it. All i found really was the nexus gel that snipe recommended. It says sunscreen, but your product might be better for the sun.

This question comes up ALL THE TIME and I still have no idea why you guys just don't use a 100% SPF50 no grease like Copertone Sport UltraSweatProof in the blue bottle. They also make a spray. It dries matte, can be used as a gel, smells nice and allows 0 fade. You could rub this stuff all over your pinky white body and lay in the sun at the equator and then jump in a volcano with no problem. Why do you think it will harm you wig or allow fade?

This has to be the biggest and obvious no brainer in all of hairwearing side tips.

Just keep the stuff away from the base. I just comb it through. Also I use ADF and I also leave that in. I have never had any fade and I live in South America. FWIW my pieces only last 3 months as the lace starts to geat really frayed but with all the products I use the hair is as good as when it was delivered. I can't see the hair not being able to hold out for 2 months more.

yes, Reubin posted this a long time ago about using regular sunscreen and I still thinks its one of the best tips you'll get on this subject!! it makes perfect sense!! Reubins been using this for years and his hair is very dark and he doesn't get fade.....it can be purchased at any super drug store and its inexpensive. what more could you ask for?
