Yes it does lay flatter, doesn't tangle as much either, and it stays glued down longer and is easier to clean up. You may need to spike it up a bit with some product. I'm currently wearing a 65% density all PSB full cap that I've had laying around for a while and use TDI Hair Bond Creme on it to get some lift.
Downside, in my experience, is it's hotter and sweat builds up under the base. Noisy to touch also. Front edge has to be well secured to avoid detectability - better suited to comb down styles really.
