This seems like a busy and informative forum.
First time user here and still in the learning curve, recently i purchased a "stock light brown" topper from a different company (NOT toplace), on their site they advertise bleached knots, however when it arrived i can clearly see the knots, i emailed them and they assured me that all units are bleached and if they do too much it would weaken the knot, this being my first unit i have nothing to compare too, can anyone tell me if this is bleached knots or is that company pulling my leg?

So from what i can see it does look like they have been bleached you can ask to have them bleached more which is what i specify on my orders only around the crown or anywhere your showing more scalp it probably does shorten the life span a little but i still get around 4 to 5 months.

They look very visible at the moment because you have white behind them try some pictures with the piece on your hand showing flesh colour through the piece.

The second picture can't quite make it out but there's something about the way its been knotted doesn't look natural but saying that you need to get the piece on they all ways look different once on.

Is this acceptable for bleached knots or should i bleach them further?

For light colored hair the bleaching should be much better. Dark hair is more trickier to bleach. As you mentioned in your first post---this is NOT A TOPLACE UNIT. I suggest sending it back to the supplier for further bleaching.

bry that is horrible bleaching. your color should achieve practically invisible knots. my pieces which are not toplace are 1b and knots are never a problem.
another issue you may be seeing is that perhaps the knots are large, which makes bleaching more difficult. the hair line should be single knots.

Thanks to everyone who has replied and confirmed my suspicions, im going to try bleaching the knots myself because i want to learn everything and it would be quicker than sending it in, hopefully i can achieve invisible knots and keep the piece for 5 months, im also going to try for the undercut look

OK from looking at your new pictures i agree there not well bleached and now seeing the hair is alot lighter then i first thought these knots should be almost invisible.

Bleaching yourself can be a bit of a mine field i have tried a few different ways of doing it with varying results the most successful was using a guide i found just do a search on google (bleaching your own knots) and find the how to video you will need a mini steamer though.

Im now of the opinion this unit was never bleached in the first place, i bleached the knots and tweezed out all the jet black hairs in the front and man what a difference, looks totally natural now, once i find a decent glue ill be all set
