Newcomer question
Hello, I am going to order my first system in a few days, and I am having a few questions.
I don't really understand the contour thing, what contour do I need to choose if I only need slight hairline recession? Like NW1 or something.
And another question is do I really have to make the template, if I am going to have my cut in made by wig specialist, who really knows what she's doing? Because it takes just too much time to send the template overseas and then wait 2 more months plus delivery. And I am afraid to do the template, because I might mess it up, and I don't think this wig specialist is going to make it for me, but I will see.
Also I am going to order TL-700 base, is this only on the hairline, and on the sides there is another material right? I am going to wear some of those modern hairstyles where the hairline is exposed, so this option suits me the most?
Thank you so much for the attention.

RE: Newcomer question
Hi ... I`m not being flippant with you, but I think you need to clarify in your mind, what the initial steps are in terms of ordering.
There are two basic ways of obtaining a system........ either order a ` Stock` [Off-the-shelf] system, or a custom-made one. The choice of base-materials is up to you, when ordering custom-made ........stock systems are a ` standard` size and shape, and all come with a medium density..... they are generally a middle-of-the-road solution to your needs. Some people find them excellent and they fit like a glove, however, for a more accurate fit, to the size and shape of the individual head-shape, custom-made is best. In order for the factory to produce a system to the correct size/shape and area to be covered on your head, it`s necessary to make a template.
There`s no point in getting into ` technicalities` such as contour/s ---just make a template, representative of your original hairline and area needing coverage, and you`ll get a matching-system. Some informative videos here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_q...hairsystem
You ask if it`s necessary to make a template `` if I am going to have my cut-in made by a wig specialist`` ---- again.. I`m not being flippant but the person doing a cut-in, will not be able to alter the shape or curvature of the base, and he or she will simply give you a ` haircut`.
You refer to a TL 700 base ...this is entirely made of thin Polyurethane..there is no other material incorporated into it.. You can have a combination of lace and Polyurethane depending on the thickness of the poly..you`d have to check that with John ..some of the thinner poly materials are not `heavy` enough to `hold` lace .....
I don`t understand exactly what you mean when you say it takes too much time to send the template and then wait for delivery....so do you intend to order a stock system ? All stock units are made of either French lace, or Thin skin, and the following specifications: 8" x 10 "

65% density (medium)

Freestyle Venting

6" Hair Length—Real human Remi Hair

All bleached knots.
Be aware that the front hairline is a standard shape [contour] also.
The only way to be reasonably sure you`ll get a system made to your individual needs [head-shape/curve, and area that needs coverage] is to make a template and send it in, along with a sample of your hair, for color-matching.
I hope that has clarified it a bit for you ....as this is your first order, you`d obviously hope to be reasonably happy with what you get.....there`s no point in rushing in and ordering something that may not meet your requirements....for the sake of another bit of time,I`d advise you to make a template and wait another while.....it can take a little time /effort and even a bit of frustration, but it`s not rocket -science either ....you`ll be happier in the long run, if you make the effort as you`ll get a better-fitting system which is unique to you.
Have a look at this thread ..there`s a photo of my Template there ..just gives you an idea of what you need to make..... http://forum.toplace.com/showthread.php?tid=6375

RE: Newcomer question
But lets assume that I want to buy it without template and I need this tl700 base. I choose custom piece then, i get my head measurements in inches, but there are those A, aa, aaa contours, not every type of contours listed in "how to buy" guide. I wanted to know which on do I need to choose from those that are available, to have my hairline just slightly receded, like nw1,5 at most.

RE: Newcomer question
The base -materials listed , such as TL 700 are a guide / illustration of what is available .. they are for custom-made orders....you select which base-material you require, and the factory will make it to the size /shape of the template you provide...... yes they can make a system from head-measurements you provide, but this is no real guarantee of a nice /snug fit...... as for contours, I can`t advise you on that ..... I`ve only ever made a template of my natural hairline and the style I wear the hair in, is an easy style to carry ..it doesn`t expose my hairline..... just have a look at the contours which are available and you`ll have to judge which shape would suit you best ...most guys who use tape-contours, have them to hand and when they make their template, they simply trim the front of it to the contour-shape, that way , when their system is delivered, their tape/s will ` marry-up` to the edge of the system, at the front. I don`t use tape-contours in any case, so I`m not trying to get my system-front to ` match -up` with a particular tape contour... I use Got2b glued to attach with... I suggest you mail John to discuss your exact requirements, before ordering ...regards.

Dear Paul, this page always tells me that the captcha is invalid, without even showing it to me. Tried on multiple browsers/devices.

RE: Newcomer question
Hello
One more question. When I am completing the order, I have no FedEx delivery option, and it is written that it is recommended to use it for international orders. But I am only seeing "standard shipping" option. Is this okay? And will it provide me with any tracking number?
Thanks
