Hello from Asia (updated with pics)
Hello all,

I am a 25 year old who has come to the end of having hair or not.

From here I either go shaved or try out a hair piece. I figure I may as well try a hair piece before committing myself to being shaved.

I have a couple of issues. Firstly I currently live in Asia(but from the UK) - anyone know a good place within Asia to get a cut in? Anywhere within flying distance of HK is good for me really! I think having a cut in and a guiding hand the first time would be very useful.

Because I still relatively young, then I would like a young hairstyle.

I am changing jobs probably within the next 6 weeks in a different Asian city so will be an ideal time to change.

Shall I post up pictures of my hair before, during and after previous treatments (minoxidil mainly)?

Thanks all!

RE: Hello from Asia
By ``HK `` I assume you mean `Hong Kong` ?
Found this thread [ Note the date--May 2010] scroll down for details of a stylist in Singapore.

You could also consider using Debbie`s remote cut-in service ---your system can be shipped to her when it`s made, she can style it in and post it to you for a [reasonable] fee. It`s not the perfect way to do it but many wearers are pleased with it....once the `heavy` work has been done, you can simply go to any stylist near you for any little `tweaking` it may need.....many stylists may be cautious of doing a cut-in from scratch, but will happily do a little `nip and tuck` with a thinning -scissors etc. Check out Debbies site for details [click the `services ` link] http://splitendshairreplacement.com/

Hi Phooey,
We have a couple of customers in Hong Kong--I'll contact them and see if they can recommend a stylist. You're doing the right thing by giving hair wearing a chance. It will chance your life. Please post the photos. And doing this between jobs is a great time to 'take the leap.'
Regards,
John

RE: Hello from Asia
Hi Paul, Yes thats right, I am very close to HK, but not actually there, its within an hour though. I think for my first time I would rather get it done by a stylist with me there, just to make sure that I get it right first time.

I will post photos within this week.

Are there any other younger hair wearers here on the site, I have used the search function and found a lot of posts, but would like to hear some young guys experience.

RE: Hello from Asia
I used to live in HK till about 18 months ago. I used Michael T at La Coupe salon in Central. He doesn't do any specialist hairpiece stuff like attaching, but he's a good hair cutter. I did the attachment myself and went in with a beanie on, and he cut the unit in in a quiet corner of the salon. He charged about 700 honkies i think. There were a couple of places on the Kowloon side too, but Michael was better with westerners' hair. You in Shenzhen?

RE: Hello from Asia
Yes, close to Shenzhen, Guangzhou!

As it is my first time could do with a salon to guide me through the process. Pics coming up next...
Here is a pic from this evening. Its generally not 'too' bad, but its starting to thin, and I would like a better quiff as it sets off my face quite nicely.

Not sure if I have posted the pic correctly..

Any suggestions? Im thinking stock piece to begin with to see if I like it or not, then take the plunge and get custom.

I think I will wait until the summer when I head back to Europe to get it cut in...

Phooey,
Are you thinning in back around the crown area? Or is it basically your hair line that is thinning?
Thanks,
John

RE: Hello from Asia (updated with pics)
you wont regret it, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hell im a bitt, well alot of a worrier and if i can do it,
when the rules are followed, and you dont have to be spot on with some things,
modern 21st century hair systems look and feel awesome,
been wearing now for 18 months,
and its turned the clock back to person i should have still been,
the handsome devils back, i can score on a night out so easy, just like the olde days,
the positives outweigh the negatives,
otherwise few would persist in wearing,
we wear because phisicaly+psychologicaly its better than a bottle of prozac,
feeling great about how you look,
youll know when you look in the mirror, youll know when youre getting ready for a night out,
i cant really describe what its done for me , iv tried, but you gotta go from despair to true Euphoria, one life one chance to be and look youre best
hell who woudnt want that

Yeh John, it's thinning at the back too, but I didn't photograph it as I'm afraid of what I know I will see.

Antywanty-I am definately going to give it a shot, if you don't try you will never know!
