Why is tape supposed to be easier again?
So, I gave tape another try again today, and I'm still confused about this assertion that tape is supposed to be easier than glue. How's that?
First of all, cutting bits of tape to the right shape, and lining them up perfectly to the edge of the unit, and teasing off the backing with toothpicks, etc. -- it's all a big pain in the butt, and takes a lot of time. I suppose that gives me time to become more familiarized with my iTunes collection. It's hard to pay attention to the music though when I have to fiddle with all these tape bits so carefully.
Then when I go to put the hairpiece on, it seems impossible to get it perfectly aligned, because with tape on the hairpiece, it doesn't stretch anymore like an SFS piece does without the tape on it. I need that stretch so that I don't end up with huge seam gaps.
And when I've used the alcohol slide, which might help with this, it has effected the hold adversely.
So, why, again, should I want to use tape rather than glue?
