What's the exact difference?

Are there wigs that adhere to the head, or are they typically taken off after use?

I like the concept: like a hat. No wash or fuss.

Am I off-kilter?

I thought they were just different names for the same thing?

I mean you can call it what you wish, but wigs are more of a general term used for just about anything. if i went to the Halloween store and got a big fluffy wig for five dollars, I would call it a wig, i wouldnt be calling it a hair system. lol .
