You get up to 6" included in the price of your hair system. But that's a lot of hair. Customers find it difficult to do a proper attachment with all that hair before it's cutin. And going in to see their stylist with that mound of hair on your head makes waiting for the stylist a little 'uneasy.' So people can order a shorter length that is more manageable until they get it styled. Here's a photo of a hair style that's 3-4" long just to give you an idea of what they length looks like. Healthy looking hair though, I wouldn't something like this in the future.

After a couple of years of doing this I asked my stylist Betsy if I should be ordering the hair a little shorter.

Her answer was "Of course! You didn't notice how long it takes me to cut that mop of hair off of your head before I can get to the real haircut?"
