Hi Topcat:
Basically I SERVICE the unit (see Di Di, my stylist) when I
start getting that glue seepage you mentioned.
I HATE Walker No Shine Tape. I used it last month as I
ran out of SUPERTAPE (which I buy from Debbie) and it was
a nightmare ..... The Blue Liner is another bad tape for me.
I loved ST-30 when it was available. The best tape, the best
hold, and the longest without glue seepage. I went to Thailand
for a month in the heat and it held perfectly. Closest I found
again, is the SUPERTAPE, both the thin for the front and the
regular sized. For glue, I've tried them all. The only one that
works for me without getting gummy is the Ultra Hold ...
You have to experiment. IF you work out or are in humid
environments ..... In the past I used the Ultra Hold (a thin
layer), let it dry and then a thin layer of Walker Tight Grip ...
but only on 1/2" of the front hairline.
Note: On Service
When I go in for service, basically .. Di Di puts this citric /
alcohol concoction on my head to loosen piece, removes
it, washes my regular hair, washes the piece with a hi-powered
spray gun ... shaves whatever growth of hair on the top of
my head ... maybe a little dye on my natural hair and then
dyes the piece and adds some highlights both to my natural
hair and the piece. Applies tape to the piece .. attaches it ...
glues the front .... Sometimes she has to style piece or my
natural side hair ....Service time is about two hours.
I really wish I had the patience and skill level some of the
guys have on here to do the attachments and cleaning
myself .... but I deal with a lot of people on a daily basis
and sometimes on video ... So I'm not going to chance my
eyes and find in public my piece looks like a pelican squatted
on my head. I hope this helps Topcat.

I have read on the forum in a couple of your recent replies, that you only change out your unit every two to four weeks.Does the glue/tape seep into the hair by leaving it on this long.Im in Australia(down under!!)and even in winter i can only get about one week before the tape (Walker no shine) is beginning to break down and starting to seep, blue liner was even less at about 4/5 days.
I understand it can relate to body chemistry, but does your stylist have to deal with any glue seepage into the piece, and if so how does she get the glue out.
Regards topcat.
BTW glad to see you back on the forum, your replies and posts in the past were always good to read.
