Thread: Question to JRob
Post: Re: Question to JRob
I think skin full caps have their place. Mostly as emergency back ups and for quick fit and removal as you can wear them without tape or glue as they sort of mould themselves round your head. Good for... |

Thread: handling a certain social situation
Post: Re: handling a certain social situation
If anyone asks, just tell them you dye your hair. Is there a social stigma about men doing this these days? Probably not so much as wearing a wig still. I wear a full cap and dye it sometimes anyway (... |

Post: Re: Full caps in hot climate areas?
I've worn one 24/7 for several years now in very hot and humid conditions - up to 44C here in Australia in summer, and in steamy SE Asia. Lace is fine but not skin bases as the sweat just builds up un... |

Novel idea indeed. Another is to cut a chunk out of an old lace unit that still has a good amount of hair in it in some areas and sew the chunk into the unit you're wanting to beef up, on top of the b... |

Just be careful bleaching them. The last one I got re-bleached lasted a mere five weeks - the hair fell out by the truckload. That's the risk you take with bleaching, it can damage the hair structural... |

Thread: Full Cap Base Designs, Your Thoughts

I wouldn't recommend a skin full cap for continuous wear. Too hot for long periods and as others have mentioned those blunt edges can be a problem. Lace on the other hand works very well indeed. I usu... |

An all Psb full cap may be ok for colder climes provided you remove and wash the build up of sweat from your head every night. Right now it's 45C in the shade here (about 118F) in the middle of a hot ... |

I'd start with a topper if your sides are good. Plenty of time for a full cap later on. Both have their pros and cons. I started out with toppers, but now I'm a full cap convert. |
