potential customer, have questions about styles and whatnot - spasticated - 10-20-2017 Hi there, I am thinking about transitioning to a system this upcoming summer, I still have hair but it's thinning out pretty rapidly, I think i probably have another 6-8 good months left of hair. I have attached some pics of the style I liked with my hair, i would like to replicate this with a system if possible. it is basically a short fade on the sides and a sort of faux hawk on the top. so it's not too long of a hairstyle. is this attainable with a system? and would it look identical to how it looks in my pictures here? I am mainly concerned with how realistic it would look, i don't want anyone suspecting a hairsystem. if so, could someone recommend me what kind of setup that would be? i also have about 50% grey on the sides of my hair, and maybe 5-10% grey on top. https://i.imgur.com/wmeYx8M.jpg https://i.imgur.com/zl15lvJ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/L0dUfNr.jpg here's some random dude rocking the hairstyle i'd like to emulate with a system: https://smhttp-ssl-33667.nexcesscdn.net/manual/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/faux-hawk-haircut-men-style-look.jpg let me know how feasible these styles are, thanks! RE: potential customer, have questions about styles and whatnot - JaySon29 - 10-21-2017 Some of your images were really too small and not of good enough resolution to evaluate. Shorter hairstyles (1-1.5 inches) are much harder to appear convincing than longer styles (2.5 inches and above). The reason has to do with blending the HP hair with your own. The two must match in terms of color, texture, shine, etc and short HP hair does not allow for much hair to mingle with your own bio hair. Yes, it can be done but it's not easy, especially if this is your first HP. I tried a shorter style and discovered this, recently. Scroll down, the images are here: http://forum.toplace.com/showthread.php?tid=6491&page=2 Below, is a view from the side with the part where the blending was the most difficult. Recently, I found that if you use a pomade, the blend is much better. Not perfect, but harder to detect. If you go with a longer length on the top with a fade on the sides, it may actually be easier to achieve, since any lack of perfect blending may be ascribed to the "style" as, for example, with undercut hairstyles. If you are younger or looking to achieve a hipster style, then that will work for you. In my case, being older, these possibilities would not work as well for me....sigh. I'm sure younger guys will eventually chime in with their experiences. Whatever you decide, I do advise you to have your hair styled by a professional who is experienced working with HPs, at least for your first system. That way, the two of you can tweek the style until it works out best. Let us know how it works and share the images if you feel like it. Good luck, but defiintely go for it! RE: potential customer, have questions about styles and whatnot - spasticated - 10-21-2017 Thank you for the reply! I will definitely be having a short fade on the sides. How about that last picture i linked in my post. Is that achievable in a convincing manner? or would you consider that a little too short. His bangs are even a little swept over so it would hide the hairline, i think. RE: potential customer, have questions about styles and whatnot - JaySon29 - 10-22-2017 I do believe you can achieve the look shown in the last image, but it won't be easy. The hardest parts with any HP is the front hairline and the sides, especially with a high fade. In my opinion, with your proposed style, the front will be easier to master, especially if you pull a few strands of hair down to break up the edge of the hairline. The same would be true of the sides. Both are do-able, but will require some work to figure out the details, so don't become frustrated. A casual (sometimes called messy) hairstyle will definitely make it easier to achieve. Do it in stages, rather than taking a drastic trimming of the HP since you can't put back what you cut off. Even now, with years of experience wearing HPs, it sometimes drives me crazy to figure out how to achieve a natural look (as revealed in the above pic). In that case, with no hair product on the hair, it just did not work. Simple solution: use a pomade or gel. One other thing: I would not shave your remaining hair (underneath the HP) until you figure out the optimal parameters for your new HP. Take home advice: just do it, but cautiously and with patience. RE: potential customer, have questions about styles and whatnot - spasticated - 10-22-2017 ahh so i can just fiddle with the wig overtop my natural hair and make tweaks with it until i think it looks good enough to bond. that's actually very good advice. again, thank you so much! RE: potential customer, have questions about styles and whatnot - besthairreviews - 10-25-2017 There are so many different styles of wigs(https://www.besthairbuy.com/wigs/) in the market, such that it can be pretty confusing to make a choice. But it doesn’t really have to be that confusing, provided you have done your homework well. Before picking a wig there are a couple of things that you should know, a couple of questions you should answer. This article is aimed at guiding you on how to buy inexpensive human Hair wig online. |
