Itchy scalp - thomasgrn - 05-10-2017 My scalp under my hairpiece has been really a bother lately. Anyone know of something to help with the itch instead of having to itch it? It is starting to shed RE: Itchy scalp - ToplaceUSA - 05-11-2017 Hi Thomas, Often the itching is a sign that you need to remove the unit and clean your scalp. It’s easy to prolong this step. Hair Club for Men does what’s call a ‘hard bond.’ They use tape and glue to give you a 6 week bond till you come in for your next servicing. And your scalp begins to itch because it’s just too long to bond. HCM then sells you a product in a bottle called ‘Alive’ which is an enzyme that you apply to your scalp while the unit is on. It’s supposed to dissolve the dead skin cells that accumulate over 6 weeks and get you through to your next servicing. But there’s no substitute for removing your unit and cleaning your scalp properly. You’ll feel much better. Shedding can be due to several reasons. We always recommend that you sleep on a satin or silk pillow case. Cotton pillow cases do 2 things. First, they ‘wick’ the hair and cause it to dry out which in turn leads to the hair breaking. Second, the cotton pillow case has many scraggly fibers that ‘hook’ the hair and contribute to shedding. This has been mentioned on the forum before but for you newbies this is an excellent suggestion. The other suggestion is to buy a charcoal shower filter. It will soften the water and that’s much healthier for your hair system--and your own skin too. Regards, John |
