Walker Safe Grip--tl 700 - PholliclePhreak - 03-31-2014 Hey guys, I just bought the tl 700 from John and was wondering on using the Walker Safe Grip with it, my question is, how do I safely change my piece for cleaning with the Walker Bond without ripping apart the tl 700 from my head? is there something else I need to purchase to "loosen" the bond from my head to make removal easier? thanks in advance... RE: Walker Safe Grip--tl 700 - Paul In Ireland - 04-03-2014 Hi, That`s a poly[` skin` ] base.....unlike lace, you have to begin the removal process by spraying lace-release [alcohol] at the perimeter [usually start at the front hairline] ...allow it a minute to begin breaking down the glue /tape underneath....gently peel back that front bit until you feel ` resistance` ..spray on more lace release, wait for it to ` work` and gently peel the system back further, and so on........once removed, you then need to use a different percentage of alcohol to loosen / remove residue both from the scalp and / or base ......``Pure`` is one which is widely used ..it`s available from John, along with lace-release. For really stubborn residues, you should use a citrus-based Solvent such as C-22, De-solv-it or ReMove ..... http://www.rcr.com.au/desolvit http://www.amazon.com/Walker-C-22-Citrus-Solvent/dp/B001E2RGY6 ... you can google them yourself for lists of suppliers..... Citrus-based solvents usually need to be allowed up to 5 minutes to break down glue/s or tapes residues.Hope that helps.
