I don't want to go down the rogaine route but is there any tablets that might help or product that would not interfere with the topper?

Concealers or a full cap. Try the concealers but once they begin to become too much of a pain it's time to shave it off and replace it all.
We no longer have to be a slave to thin side hair. Full caps have proven to be a viable option.
