Sometimes customers that are losing their hair take an 'interim' step before taking the actual plunge to wearing hair. They use concealors. Toppik is a poplular one. There's also NexGen and ProThik plus others. A concealor is a tiny microfiber that adheres itself to thin hair and gives it the appearance of the hair looking thicker. Here's a before shot....I'm digging up the after shot and will post it.

People who have never seen what concealers can do are often amazed at the results. Without concealers I wouldn't have even been able to think about wearing a partial unit. Before I switched to a full cap I had to CAKE on concealers.
Now I use them for filling in the odd thin area and temporary coloring of my gray beard hair

There is a place for concealors as a temporary fix or touchup. People are happy with the results at first and then after a while they tire of the mess.
