Will a hairpiece damage hair? - xcvq - 10-06-2011

If I shave down some of my hair will the piece eventually damage that hair under there?

My recession is basically a norwood 3. To use a topper I guess I'd have to shave down the lowest part of my hairline. Would that part of my hairline recede faster if I do that?

I wear a full cap and I haven't noticed any additional hair loss. I am guessing that in order for traction alopecia to occur there has to be some kind of tension on the hair. Just having a hairpiece or adhesives on top of your growing hair shouldn't cause it to fall out.
